Facilities

Gordon Palmer Hall

Gordon Palmer Hall is our department’s home. Features include 21 multimedia classrooms, 40 offices for faculty and professional staff, 17 offices for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, and a dedicated study lounge for undergraduate students.

Math Technology Learning Center

The Mathematics Technology Learning Center (MTLC) at The University of Alabama Alabama assists students in the active learning of mathematics.  This is accomplished through a computer lab available for students to use for completing math assignments, working on math collaboratively with peers, and getting help from math tutors.  The MTLC also offers one-on-one Online Math Tutoring through Zoom.  The MTLC is open approximately 40 hours each week; no appointment required.

The MTLC is located on the upper two floors of the Math and Science Education Building, which is located at 411 Hackberry Lane.

Rodgers Library for Science and Engineering

Two blocks north of Gordon Palmer Hall is the Rodgers Library, which offers more than 220,000 books and bound journals plus access to numerous specialized databases and electronic journals. The library is a popular place to study, with a silent zone on the second floor, plus individual and group study rooms that accommodate up to 12 students and feature wireless access and, in some rooms, whiteboards and smartboards. The Scholars’ Station serves as a gathering place for students to learn, create, and discover, as well as a place for teaching faculty and students how to use special databases, and other electronic resources.
