Title: Some Link Detection Results
Abstract: A central question in low dimensional topology is; how can we distinguish links? In this talk I will discuss various classical invariants which can help us do so, as well as the stronger invariant Knot Floer homology and, time permitting, annular Khovanov homology. Indeed, we will see that these latter two invariants are strong enough to distinguish various simple links from all others. This talk is based on joint work with Gage Martin.
The talk is scheduled to be held in-person this Wednesday, 23rd March, at 11:00 am in GP 346.
