TITLE: A Discussion of Variational Models for Phase Transitions

Abstract: Variational models are an important way of describing many different phenomena.  In this talk, we’ll first provide motivation for a variational model for phase transitions and discuss some of its properties.  We will then describe how this phase model relates to other variational models.
