Congratulations to Kannon Hossain, a 5th year math Ph.D. student, for his paper that received the distinction of “Best Paper Award Finalist” in the Bioinformatics Applications category at the 16th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BICOB 2024). Kannon traveled to present his research and receive the award at the conference held in New Orleans, March 18-19, 2024.
His PhD advisor, Dr Sidje, noted how such achievements supported by the Math Department, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Graduate School, contribute to sustaining our status in the Carnegie classification of “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity”
