Math undergraduate student Marie Neubrander’s impressive work has resulted in a manuscript that has just been accepted in the faculty-reviewed undergraduate research journal SIURO (SIAM Undergraduate Research Online), published by the prestigious SIAM — Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Our Chair, David Cruz-Uribe, was lamenting his greying beard and was threatening to dye it.  The department called his bluff and offered to raise money for a local charity if they could pick the color.  He accepted the challenge and the department promptly raised over $500 for the West Alabama Foodbank.  The winning color was
